SOLD my 02 S6 Avant today.
A friend was looking for an S6. I bought one a month ago. After all the fuss about resale value and crash test results, I decided that I'm going to order the new E500 Benz. It is safer and will hold its value better. However, the handling will be lacking. 0-60 and top speed are equal. The Benz is a more solid car. I have driven MB's off and on for years and keep going back to them. The S6 was great to drive, but I don't think it will hold up as well as a Benz.I live in the south and do not need all wheel drive. I know this will **** off some folks and I'm sorry for that but facts are facts.

You sold after a month and did so because of resale value? WHAT????
That makes NO sense whatsoever - the majority of ANY resale problems occurs the second you drive it off the lot, so you basically rented an S6 Avant for one month for about $5,000 - $8,000. You truly are an idiot.

No, they're not facts they are your opinions
and you are certainly entitled to them, but you just lost a buttload of money for no good reason.
Ah well, who says cars have to make sense?

MB warranty work has gone up 200% in the last 3 years- meaning their cars are coming in more often.
Good Luck. At least you can enjoy the MB service dept since it does pamper customers better than Audi.

Re: "the handling will be lacking....." So you really aren't a Roadie? ;-)
Whatever makes you happy, but your theory and opinions I believe to be in error.
Each of our last four Audis have run between 120k - 190k...and each was still going strong when sold. The '86 4000S with 190k saved my life in a crash at about 85k having crumpled nicely (very bad picture). It was successfully repaired and run hard for almost four more years.
Don't believe everything you've read here from our crop of whiners, but again, to each his own. Good luck.

Wait, let me put on my hip-highs, the b.s. here is piling up FAST
And to think I was going to offer you 10K MORE than what you paid because I wouldn't want the 'bother' of an Audi dealer, either!
