Default Some questions regarding my first oil service at the dealer (in a long time anyway)...

First off, I am planning to bring them my own oil (since they don't use synthetics) but why am I thinking the mechanic is just going to steal my oil for his own use and put regular oil in? (lol...you can see how confident I am with dealer mechanics). But, that's not really my question but just something on my mind.
For those that do this, do you also bring an oil filter? I guess what I am getting at is, will the filters they use, be sufficient?
And do you give them 5 qts or 6?
;-)

Why are you having the dealer do the oil change is you don't trust them?

Default Bring your own oil and have them use an Audi filter.

Use manual visc. and you won't infringe on warranty issues. Use their labor and filter/gasket. They shouldn't have a problem. They might get a little* insulted if you bring all of your own materials in. I do this routine at my dealer and they are fine with it.

Default Get informed.. you are not required BY LAW...

To go to a dealer for anything as long as up to AoA SPEC parts are used, your warranty can't be void.

HOWEVER... Ask the witter to introduce you to the tech who will work on the car. Shake his hand and give him a $10. and tell him to put your oil in.

Default Actually they make $$ using your oil.

They still bill AoA for the full service.

You don't HAVE to use the dealer do any regular maintenance -- just keep your receipts.
