Default Stop Tech Brakes on A6 4.2

Anybody have experience with the new Stop Tech system on a 4.2? What about wheel clearance on the stock 17" pie plate wheels? What about on the 17" RC? Thanks.

Default I do.

I don't think either will fit, but call Pete at Stratmosphere.com and he can fax you a template that you can use to measure it yourself.

Do the sport 5-spokes fit?

They fit great, plenty of clearance.

Default Thanks. That's my next upgrade, if service can't get mine working OK...

I get vibration at high speed sometimes, and a surging (once per rotation) at low speeds. Not acceptable in any car, much less luxury sport.

Default Perhaps a new thread/question, but since I'm considering the same brake upgrade...

Don't your 5 spoke sport alloys seem heavy to you? They're a few pounds heavier than my winter 16" ATP's. Thus the question: perhaps with the brake upgrade should I consider a lighter 17" rim for summer use? It's a good question, imho.

They fit the 5 spoke sports, they fit SSR comps 17" x 8.5 and any 18" wheel.

Default Yes, lighter would be better. But I can't find a wheel I like as well as sport 5-spoker.

Brake upgrade will save several pounds, also.
