Stopped by Hotchkiss / H-Sport, and left with a big box of fun.
After my phatbox install, I figured I should do something with more potential for danger, so I stopped by H-sport yesterday and picked up a set of bars direct.
The instructions make this look WAY too easy. To make it more challenging, I'm thinking of wearing an eye patch, performing the install naked from the waist down (I'll scatter 1½" finishing nails on the ground for effect), with the first 15 seconds of KISS's "Cold Gin" playing super loud on repeat and the kid from next door lighting off stink bombs in my garage every 72 seconds. To increase the sense of urgency and pressure on me, I will dedicate the install to "all mankind." I will also likely be seven sheets to the wind. If anyone wants to join me, we can make a real party out of it.
Anyhow, currently running the stock PSK's on the car (it's an '03 that came stock with the sport package). Depending on how I like the feel of these H-sports, I will probably want to unload the originals, so if anyone's looking for some, let me know. I'll post pictures of the installation after I finish.
Bottoms Up, bay-bee!

LOL. H-Sports are a fun install, with or without the eyepatch.
You'll also need robust ramps, limber wrists and a slinky neck. And, speaking from experience, don't release the center exhaust hangers after the rear hangers while laying under the exhaust. That exhaust is a talented wrestler and she'll pin you good.

Dude - I've been wondering where you've been...
I've been looking forward to more posts from you ever since you introduced your "ricelink" mp3 player interface system. You SLAY me! <guffaws loudly>
Yeah, I read what you posted about your own h-sport install. Classic. I will definitely heed your warning about getting pinned under the exhaust - "This made for an uncomfortable and rather provocative shimmy out from under the exhaust and the car." I was dying laughing.!
Thanks for the pointers, although I do think the eye patch would be a nice touch.... ; )

Did you happen to come across any "blemished" items at the store?
I know every now and then they sell blemished items (sticker crooked, paint chip, etc..)
How was pricing? In some cases their prices are a few dollars higher than online stores.
Can't wait to see the install.

No, no blemishers. Apparently they already shipped them all to ROSS
Actually, they had none inventoried in-house, but they were doing a fresh run that day and boxed a set for me to pick up.
The price was full pop at $392, but I wanted to install them this weekend, and so it was cheaper to pick them up than to pay for the expidited shipping. I could have gotten the blue version for less from Tirerack, but I though the blue color might detract from the blue ground effects lights and blue front strobes / disco ball I'm gonna put in.
I'll be sure to take lots of pics of the operation...

So you're saying you don't want to see my "socket wrench?"
Sorry dude, I know, I know. I couldn't resist.
Go ahead, flame away. I can already hear it: "8mm?" "Must be a 10mm socket" etc...
My apologies and condolences to all the respectable people in the house...
