Temp guage question
#2
Very inexpensive, relatively easy to fix.
The temp sender is about $7 at any dealership and the clip that holds it in is about $1...I'd buy 1-2 in case you break/loose one, BTDT.
Getting to the sender can be tricky and swear-inducing if you don;t have sleek hands and arms. It's installed to a coolant pipe on the pass. side rear of the engine. I'm sure otheres will post photos and diagrams.
i replaced one on a 2.8 and i left with a bunch of scratches and a sore hand...but it is basically a 10 minute job.

It could simply be the sender in the coolant pipe under the MAF. It is a round 3 or 4 pin...
type held in by a horse-shoe type plastic clip. You will see it on a blck metal pipe whihc connects the rear of both heads, then has a branch going forward onto the back of the water pump.
Very common fault.
