Default Tiptronic Sensor Fault

I have been having intermittent, but frequent, rough riding problems with my 2000 A6 2.7T. Sensation ranges from an annoying fluttering to a full-blown bucking during highway driving.

Dealer scanned the car today and detected a tiptronic sensor fault. The fault kept re-appearing after multiple resets.

Any thoughts about the nature of the symptoms that would be produced by this faulty sensor? What does this sensor do?

Default Was this the only code that came up ?

If so, have you answered your own Q ? Did they have the sensor in stock Ha Ha ? Did your bronco stop after the fix ? What did the service dept. say when you asked them the above Q ?

Default Re: Was this the only code that came up ?

Just this one code.

Sensor not in stock, of course.

Since new part not installed, don't know what you mean by "after the fix."

Service Dep't did not have a clear answer, but maybe that's because the answer isn't clear or they didn't know. That's why I'm posting here.
