Default no, there wasn't. the hub just moved back and forth the way it's supposed to.

I work in IT too but i do this as a hobby. I like mechanical and electrical engineering and a lot of my friends advised me to open up a mechanic shop but i would not do that. I prefer my desk.

No problem IMO. They both have oil screens on the pickup.

The down side to that is if too much stuff comes loose it will limit the flow through the screen.

Default On the same note, how does this trans circulate the oil?

I think the torsen creates some flow towards the screen in the rear of the trans but still, it is interesting that there's no oil pump but if an oil pump and aditional cooler would have been present i would have felt better.

Default Your feelings were most probably not a design consideration. All street MTs are splash lubed,..

no pumps, screens nor filters involved.

Default Yes but the 01E trans has on oil screen and an oil passage through the mainshaft so it's more ...

than splash lubed... from what i could tell the only things getting lubed off the shaft passage are the sliding gears and that helps them slide easier.... i guess.

Default Note that your response relates back to ATs and engines. If a real concern, eliminate the.....

suction screens, gut your filters, and rely on the bearing clearances to filter out the big stuff.

Default Based upon what I have been able to learn, I would bet it was a Getrag-made item.

Unfortunately they don't have anything close to the web-based info that ZF has for the yip trannys.
