Default UPDATE...AoA's response to timing belt under Audi Assured.....(m)

Regarding my post from yesterday...AoA just called me back -- shocking but true--and notified me that "if the TB fails prior to the recommended replacement mileage (104k), and while under the Audi Assured warranty period, AoA will replace and/or repair all components damaged as a result of that failure". They WILL NOT put this in writing, but I do have a case number with them that will validate any claim that I may have to make in the future. This is good news, as I have 14 months/40,000 miles remaining on my Assured warranty. Maybe the water pump will go before then, and I'll have the TB etc. done then -- that was the case with my A4. Hope this helps anyone in the same position.

Default Yup...I would certainly get the Wpump, tensioner rollers etc done at this time.

Good deal.

I did the same...and I probably saved myself $1K on a future TB replacement...while I was under warranty.

Good luck!

Ya, as if a broken timing belt constitutes "wear and tear." Wait, that's what they'll say.

Default One would assume. In general, you are required to maintain the vehicle per the manufacturer's

specifications in order to not void your warranty. If you do your part (i.e. change parts and fluids per the schedule) AOA should compensate in the event of a failure.

I'd go by the book.
