Thinking about getting rid of the Kumho 712's. 2 tires cupped, lots of tread left on them but around 25-35mph really harsh.
what ya all think?
I have had S02's, S03's, Rosso's, 712's. Out of these I like the rossos best. Thought I would try the GS-D3's. Price seems right.
Street only.

2nd question
I run 235/40-18 all around. Front wheels 18x8, rear 18x9.
Was wondering 265/35-18 for the rear, 235/40-18 front??? OK for the quattro since they are very very close rolling diameter??
I know that cost will be more for the tires, and then I would not be able to rotate them to fronts. Seems like more trouble than its worth just for looks.
Only for street use. Thought it would look different.
Probably wont do this option.

Have had them on my 03 4.2 since new. car now has 40k alternate the F1 with snows in winter. Love the tire, outstanding wet traction, still lots of tread left however started to generate lots of noise recently and increasing, had wheel alingment check done in past few days was ok. Rotate tires every 6k and roadforce balance. will check tirerack owner reviw for feedeback. Not sure if Audi does bad things to tires as wear increases. Has same problem with my 2000 4.2 tires make lots of noise to the point of being intolerable as wear incerased and they were origional tire at 40+k. Cupping clearly evident both times. Love those rims and 18 inch size.

No personal experience, but a bud has them on his Merc and loves them! He's only had them about 5K
miles though. IIRC there was some talk around here about them being noisey after a while.

Maybe some fatty hubcentric H&R adapters or spacers?
One option might be to go 235 all around and get some fat 20mm or so hubcentric H&R adapters /spacers for the rear? The beefy ones are actually really nice, with a big hub lip for the wheel, and have TUV approval (I've driven on them and had no vibration issues). Might do the trick if you just want to fill out the fenders a bit, but not if you want that true fat tire look...
Just thinking out loud. Might be an economical alternative to a 265 / 235 split (i.e. could still rotate...)...
