Went to the C6 A6 Tech Session last night....

Alright, so call me a Luddite
and Google that up if you don't know what I mean ....
the only thing on your list that isn't silly and unncessary overkill, IMHO, is oil filter on top. And even that has been a BMW hallmark since ... well for about 10 years at least.
Really, how hard is it to use any carmaker's existing key to start the car or pip the doors open?

Great time last night!
Thank you, Chris, and everyone else that made it happen! You're the best!
That's my green A4 Avant 3.0Q right by the door. And best thing ... it's 3 miles from where I work, and I live in Marlborough. They are getting the A3 soon, and the Pikes Peak in after that.
That's me in the black suit ... what can I say? I came straight from work.

I especially like the cartridge filter on top of the 3.2
I've had three VW VR6 engines, which also uses a cartridge. However, it is accessed from underneath. This is on top, like the VW TDI engine. They also mentioned that it is intentionally located inside the "V" of the V6, so it is exposed to the engine's heat.
