What about the manufacturers

Sorry, I'm in the camp that believes this is not a tire issue. Sounds
like something is not correct in the supension/steering area. Design problem would be my guess. If it was the tires it would probably be contained to one brand and/or model.

Yeah, I get the point...I haven't mentioned much of my S6's problem...
simply because I can't seem to get much done about it...plus, I don't drive it often...and I don't have the time to pursue it as vigorously as necessary. I will have them here see what they can do...ultimately.
Bottom line: I have basically accepted this flaw...even though that is not the right thing to do...but, I am certain I will not buy another Audi product until the flaw is gone. There will be further extensive testing of Touaregs and Cayennes before I ever purchase one...ensuring no vibration...otherwise BMW or MB will have a new customer.
I do believe Audi has been dishonest in their handling of the issue...as they were with the windshield problems and continue to be with the rotor problems. The windshield and rotor problems are minor in comparison...the vibration issue takes away from the enjoyment of the car every single day.
Yeah, a lawsuit would be a great idea...if one can find enough people to join in...but one would need the time, experience, and resources to do this...and I, for one, am not that person...in any of the 3 categories.
Would I join in a class-action suit??? Absolutely.

That same AWD hardware is used in many other models including the Passat...
with NO such vibration...so whether it is related to the quattro or not, I don't know...but it appears unique to the A6/S6.

Re: Can you imagine the $ the tire manufactures are losing b/c of AoA blaming
Unfortunately, I saw this discussion after changing my S4 to a 6/4.2, but seem to have the vibration only first thing in the morning for about 3-5 miles. Everything smooths out after that. When I origionally picked up the car I had tire vibration and front brake vibration. The brakes were fixed with new rotors (tire prep had gummed them up) and the tires have seemed to smooth out after a few k miles (other than above). Local tire dealer (not conti) seems to feel that the tire is to wide and suggested 235-45-17 as a replacement and 'will use that size for snows. I'll see if the problem still exists.
