What discounts to expect on 2001 A6 2.8?
Now that the updated 2002s are here, my dealer
has a few 2001s left. What kind of price should
I look for on a 2.8 quattro lease?
Thanks

Depends. Anywhere from 500 to 1000 over invoice. You can try for less.
Keep in mind that the residuals ( and most likely the money factor, unless Audi is still running a promotion ) will favour the '02. Better to buy the '01 or lease the '02.
Even if they lease the car to you for invoice, every $1000 in price equals approx $22 a month in payment.

I believe this kind of misinformation is not helpful...
Almost any car can be purchased at below sticker. The only people who pay retail or more for anything are those people who think they must make the purchase when the inspiration hits or are afraid to ask for what they want. Do the research and learn the art of intimidation. You can get the deal you want (or close to it) when you don't carry your heart on your sleeve and you're willing to walk out. Dealers perpetuate the belief that cars only sell for sticker or more.

April needs no defenders, but read closely before acusing her of not being helpful...
if you did the "research", you'd know a) MSRP and invoice are not the same thing, and b) April knows more than anyone else here.

I am a loss as to how this would be construed as misinformation.
Any special manufacturer deals aside, I think my suggestions are valid. Thousands of car sales on my behalf and many happy customers over the years, would seem to bear this out.

You are new here aren't you?? We should PAY April for the amount of good info we get
And I think that you have confused intimidation with negotiation.
