What does this indicate?

Oil in the hose. What causes this? Only on driver's side. 2.7t a6

Indicates that your engine has been run. Small amount of oil makes it past the turbo seals...normal. Next time you change your oil, disconnect the hoses to the intercooler and you'll be surprised how much oil is there. As the turbo seals age, more and more oil passes until one day they don't seal and the party's over..
