Wrecked M3... Does Quattro and etc etc save lives?

Just curious, how many of you think that Quattro and traction control is better and perhaps even saves lives compare to rear wheel drives with traction?
(sorry have to put in some audi content otherwise gets moderated.)

http://forums.roadfly.com/bmw/e46m3/forum.php?postid=178222&page=1</a

OH MY GOD! That's bad. How fast was he going? Anyway, I don't think quattro could have done
anything for this guy. That looks to me like a head on collision with a pole. His traction control and ABS would have allowed him to steer away from the pole if there was enough time to react. It looks like he just went straight into it. I didn't read the story so if I'm wrong, please explain what happened.

Yes, it does! My brother has a 530 and you couldn't pay me...
...to get in that f'in thing in the winter without snow tires on it. You just kind of aim it down a hill and hope it goes straight...scary as hell.

The guy was from South Africa. I actually saw his car at JSN Motors/BMW a few months ago before he
got delivered. That intersection were he had his accident can be a bitch and many cars have lost it there. He must have been going at a hell of a speed considering how well the M3 handles with all its electronics gizmos. You can't beat the law of physics!

Yes they do......
...at least this guy thinks so!!

Luckily, I have never had his experience but it just reinforces my logic for owning two of them.

After playing on the track, racing on the street is just scary.
I know some of you have had some wild test drives with me, but if you drove with me on a non-car-sales basis, you'd know I am a pretty tame driver ( except on-ramps ).

Too scary, and I doubt a quattro, at the same speed with the same driver, would have been safer...
