The right side mirror is not moving properly. Motor hums, but mirror only makes small moves and snaps back.

Any suggestions for troubleshooting and DIY repair?

I had a car do this once, not an audi. Someone had pushed the mirror in while parked. It was pass side and it was pushed in on outer edge. I just pushed the inner side of mirror manually to get it in focus. Low and behold it worked perfectly afterward till I got rid of car. Naturally try at your own risk!!

I will give it a try; but have 'adjusted' the mirror manually already to be able to use it.

make sure the WHOLE HOUSING is in place properly *in its proper resting place.. not tilted in or out

using gentle firm power manually push the GLASS PART only fully to the top right then fully to the bottom left .. paying attention to any feedback mirror gives ... then leave some where near center

test the mirror again

if still an issue .. it could be

1. faulty motor
2. object lodged into mirror housing and blocking movement
3. u r trying to position mirror to a position that is out of range or normal parameter for the mirror
