Default 55k mile service in L.A. or Orange County

Hello All, I just got back from my first road trip in my 05 A6 4.2. I will post some pics soon but the car drives incredible. I've had the car for about 3 weeks now and it just turned 53k miles. I know the 55k mile service is a major service, and Mission Viejo Audi qouted me around $650. Does anyone know if any dealers are running any specials for this service or even a reputable Indy shop?

That price is the same as for the 3.2 litre six cylinder. I always thought that the 8 cylinder engines would cost more to service due to the bigger displacement and two extra cylinders.

Good to hear you're enjoying the new car. What was your average gas mileage on trip highway wise?

I got a shop in Mission Viejo that can help you, a little cheaper that that and maybe better service. Canyon Racer Motorsports google it. His name is Mike

Thanks for the replies, I will check out Canyon also. As far as gas mileage goes it is incredible, I averaged 25.2 for the 240 mile trip back and that is with mainly 75-80mph average, even had it up to 90mph on some long strecthes. People out on Hwy 15 from LA to Vegas travel really fast these days so I was just following other cars doing the same speed.

That's great fuel consumption for an 8 doing those speeds.

Yea, we notice the same thing in CT. Before the gas price was way up, doing 80 is really fast relatively to others around you. Nowaday, doing 95 is like a piece of cake because middle lane is already going 85. Just half an hour ago, I drove by a cop doing 85 (and most of the cars around).

You might ping Tim at Beach House in Costa Mesa. I'm happy with them as are other folks in orange Co. He's an an honest guy with alot of Audi experience.

By far the best Indy Audi in socal is Jose at Eurotech motors in Culver city...One stop to his shop and you'll realize why. He is an Audi/Porsche master tech and only works on these cars.

I don't have any experience with indy shops, but if you decide on an authorized dealer, I would recommend sticking with MV Audi. I do not have good experience with Commonwealth. Although I got my car there, it's primarily a VW dealership and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I live 5 minutes away from Commonwealth but I always take my car to MV.

I am also planning a trip to vegas next month - that will be the first long road trip for me in the A6. It is going to be a 1200 mile road trip from here (nor cal). I'm looking forward to it!
