AMI unit swap 2007 S6
Hey all,
I have a 2007 S6, and as much as I love listening to the symphonic V10, I want bluetooth lol. Now I have the 2007 year model, which has a 2G AMI system as to what Im aware of, and when I tried to plug in my tune2air Bluetooth adapter I had no luck. I then found only 2008 cars with 3G models and up had the ability to comnect to that bluetooth dongle. Now the AMI units next to the cd player in my glove compartment are very easy to remove and only have one plug, and I was curious If i could swap in a 2009 unit from say an A4 or something and then be able to use Bluetooth. Anyone have any info on this and if it works? Or if there is more work involved?
Thanks,
Roan

I am using This
But I did have to update both my MMI software and AMI software. I have this available for you to grab here

For the AMI update, you will need something like this
Which I have not used, but this did work just fine.

I am using one of these and it is pretty damn solid.
However you may need to update both your AMI and your MMI. Here is a link to that software

You can find instructions on this forum somewhere, be careful, the wrong move can brick your system.
To do the AMI, you will need one of either of these. I have not used the first one, but the second one did the trick just fine.
