Another winter, another "BRAKE" annoying beeps! Anyone? Anyone?
Hi all,
Another winter, another "BRAKE" annoying beeps!
As soon as temp here hits 32F and below, up on starting the engine and turning the wheels,
immediately, the red "brake" light lights up in the speedometer gage and you hear the familiar, most annoying TRIPLE beep. After 5 or so minutes goes by, and after hearing it every time you turn right, it goes away. I assume, because of the pads or rotors or whatever gets warm. The colder the weather, the longer it lasts.
By mistake, I even changed the pads once, first rear (they had 50%+ left), then front ones That was last year. Well... new the pads are still good and the peeping goes on.
Apparently, it's the sensor BUT WHY??? Only right turn, ONLY when below 34-32 F and when snow as well. Short? Makes no sense....
Anyone had this problem? Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Ok, thank you...but.... HOW do you take them out? I don't even know where they are located....
Also, is it possible to do it by yourself? Or should I go to the mechanic? Is there "step by step" manual? V

I'm wondering if this is for a reason, to happen under certain conditions? My other car will beep/chime and the temperature readout will flash to alert you of a potential driving hazard..are you getting this?
I'll know fairly soon when I go back to west yellowstone for Xmas..doesn't the manual mention something about this?

Your right Am_Ver...I was mainly wondering if the Russian A6 version might have a slightly different system considering the weather where he's located but I doubt it. If he has access to
a rack where he can get under there and disconnect the sensors then test it.. it'd be interesting to get the results.

Like in all, our cars, we all get that snowflake as soon as temp reaches +3C or 5C. And my sensor BEAPS ONLY when I turn my wheels to the RIGHT! I have NO idea what to do, and I don't like the other idea of going to the dealer and paying roughly 100 bucks, so they can tell me something I might do by myself. Yes, the dealers here are MUCH more expensive. Example: I pay $240 dollars to change oil.
So, if anyone knows, how to check that sensor or how to take it out OR how to find it's location, pls let me know. Thanx.

Your left front brake caliper has a sensor connection to the brake pad thickness sensor. I would check this first. It could concievable be loose and loose connection when the wheels are turned . It is worth looking at the abs sensor connections too. It may require a scan for codes however to isolate which sensor is being affected.
