It is working perfect and loving every minute of it. However I still cannot pair phone and music simultaneously as I experience random 1 sec. interruptions on the music side. After further research this problem persists with both phones I paired Droid X and Droid Incredible. I did some more digging and discovered that earlier versions of MMI did have some problems with Bluetooth so I am looking to update my MMI soon. As soon as I update the MMI, I will report back if updating fixes what I am experiencing.

I have an Xcarlink for sale. Looks like I may be changing cars so I am going to hold off on any mods.

I have installed it briefly and verify that it works.

Xcarlink AUX IN MMI interface: http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...1&cat=0&page=1

Paid $169 USD through the vendor above. Will sell for $150 shipped. Accept Paypal. Have perfect feedback on ebay with almost 500 transactions (1006lespaul). If no interest, its off to eBay.

Great write up but why not simply use USB adapter. Same price (now actually even cheaper) and less hassle?

because to use that, you have to have the AMI...which is about $700...

it would make sense to upgrade to that if you already had the AMI, but if you have nothing at all to begin with, the Xcarlink is much cheaper.

My only question is what fuse and amperage should this unit be tied to? I just ordered everything today so I will keep everyone posted.

Will this work with a 2005 A6? I currently have a 6 disk changer.

Yes and you will still retain your cd changer.
