Finally got the MMI updated in the 2005.

It's not hard. I just left the car running and ran the discs. Read Pierre's posts about MMI updating. You need to go in steps because 1190 is so old.
Here is the doc I used:

But basically, you just turn everything off, leave the car running, insert the disc, and run the update.
