Thinking of doing this to mine...right now running 1190. Is the process pretty self explanatory? Anywhere you see I might run into problems?

It's not hard. I just left the car running and ran the discs. Read Pierre's posts about MMI updating. You need to go in steps because 1190 is so old.

Here is the doc I used:

But basically, you just turn everything off, leave the car running, insert the disc, and run the update.

What version of MMI Software will show navigation maps for mexico?

4E0060884DJ is what you need. PM if you are interested. It works for all north America

I have version 0750 right now and got this dvd online from a pirate bay torrent site:

Audi.MMI2G.Nav.2012-13.NAmerica.iso

Do you know if this will work?

No idea since that name was created by whoever made the iso.
Read the MMI stickies before you do anything else.

I am not sure if my a6 2005 3.2l has MMI 3G or 2G system. How can I get this info?
