Default MMI not saving settings?

We just bought an A6 Avant - fully loaded.

Everything is great except that it seems that the MMI doesn't seem to be consistantly saving some key based settings.

For example, I want the unlock button on my key to open the drivers, passengers, and trunk locks. My wife wants her key to just open the driver and passenger doors.

I put each key in the ignition and save the correct settings.

Later when I check, it is often wrong...the trunk is not saved onto my key.

What am I doing wrong?

We have the advanced key, if that makes a difference.

How do I designate one key as the "Master key" (the settings to use if both keys are present in the car)?

Does my car have the solar sun-roof? How do I tell if it does and if it is working?

Default Re: MMI not saving settings?

I've just checked a few other things that don't seem to be saved:

1. Telephone volume settings
2. Dialed numbers from my bluetooth phone
3. (Sometimes) the DSP surrond settings for the Bose system.

Am I crazy? Shouldn't these things be saved across car shutdowns?

They seem to be reset every time I turn the car off.

Is something wrong with my MMI? After we bought the car, I did a factory reset, but is there somthing else I can do?

Default 2nd or 3rd time ... it may save

I tried to save settings but only did it the 2nd or 3rd time I took the keys off and plug it back in. It took a while for me to save the aircondition setting I wanted, but it did.

As for the Bluetooth, it may depend on your phone. I have Motorola RAZR and my phone book was imported without a problem. As long as I get a signal from Cingular, the Audi Avant will recognize the bluetooth phone automatically when the keys are in. If there is not signal or if it is very weak, it will keep on searching for the phone. It will stop searching if there is at least 1 bar. It took a while for me to figure some quirks. Volume is saved to the same level.
