Default Which Oil Filter for A6 V8 4.2 (2006) ?

Hi Fams, I'm going to do my first DIY oil change on a 2006 A6 (C6) V8 4.2. Can someone tell me what is the oil filter spec? Which brand and part number? I'm in the US so if you can tell me a good part site and SKU that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much.

The OEM P/N for your oil filter cartridge is 079-198-405-A. You should use a German-designed filter cartridge, such as Mann or Hengst (both brands make OEM filters). Price is $11 or $16 form www.autohausaz.com.

I believe you can get the Mann and or Hengst at Napa. A bit more then $16 as I remember.

Thanks Fams. This is cool: USB Motorsports in Miami FL is offering a full "kit" for oil change. 9 liters + filter + washer for A6 C6 4.2

Question: Has anyone changed their oil using two front ramps? I've read that the car has to be level to drain all the oil out. Wondering if anyone has raised only the front and drained?

Thanks.

I know this is a big bump, but I was wondering where the little metal ring goes? No tutorial I read mentions it

If I'm thinking what you're thinking of, I believe it acts as a gasket for your oil drain plug.
