My front passenger seat just stopped reclining. It will lean forwards, but not go backwards at all. It will still slide backwards, and forwards, and everything. Just will not recline. Any ideas? Help would be appreciated!

My BF just got an a6 Quattro, 2005 and the passenger seat is in the leaned forward position, and won’t go back. Seat moves forward and backwards, lumbar even works in passenger seat back, but it will not recline. Could this be just the recline switch? Is it a separate switch, can it be purchased and replaced Separately from the other seat controls?

Honestly I have no clue. Seems me and your bf are having the same exact problem. Hope someone answers.

Utilizing a voltmeter, you should troubleshoot the wiring to the passenger seat for continuity and voltage. Once you have voltage readings, then you can compare to the voltage readings from the driver's seat.

Can you move the seat further forward?

-- Could this be same as the steering wheel issues? (With it not moving)

Maybe you can reset the seat the same way as the steering wheel?

All the functions on the seat work perfectly fine except for leaning back (reclining). And not sure what you mean by the steering wheel? Mine is moved with a little clamp or something. You pull it loose and you can move the steering wheel in and out and up and down.

When you go to use the recline function does the activation of it sound/feel any different than the other direction? If it does then it could be the switch or the surface or thing that pushes on the switch.
