Default Water cause MMI to Stop Working??

I have a 05 a6 4.2 and recently i've been having problems with my mmi cutting off 1 min after starting the car i believe the problem started with the bluetooth but is it true that if snow or rain gets under the driver's seat the mmi stops working? cause it's been snowing in my area for the past 2 days and the mmi has been randomly cutting on and off...any help on this please?
