A7 Transmission Clunk Upon Engine Start
Good day everyone.
I'm faced with an interesting dilemma. I'm 'on the fence' about buying a CPO 2015 A7 3.0 35k on the odometer, but upon taking it for a spin for the afternoon, I noticed a strange clunk or 'thump' coming from the transmission, or underneath the car in the general area. This seems to happen when the car is in Park and I'm starting the vehicle.
Car is not moving. Purely from park, car been driven, warm start. I may have heard it when turning the car off too.
The service guys are telling me that it's 'normal' as this is some sort of solenoid check noise.

My 2014 does it. Only when car is fully warm, moving from park to drive after a short time being off. Recent software update and new adaptations by mechanic did not help. I love the car. You have both warranty and CPO, go for it.
