Auxiliary heating - auto start?

Auxiliary heating - auto start?
Hello,
I can’t find a setting in my MMI to have auxiliary heater to engage automatically when outside temp is low. I can start it manually when starting driving or via remote, but I just want it to run for 10-15min until engine warms up.
I believe it is supposed to do that automatically, but I only see the aux. heater icon (and get warm air
) on A/C when I start it manually in MMI.
While on the subject of winter, same thing with rear window defroster - can it be set to auto-start when temp outside is low? Had all of this in 10yr old Volvo, so don’t expect less from A7

I would have thought that if you have the climate control set to Auto then this will be done automatically if you se the the temperature to a warm setting. If however in manual then the car would assume you would want control so will not work unless instructed to. As for the rear window heating i dont think there is an option to auto start that.. I have never seen it.

That was what I’ve thought, but apparently if aux. heater is not turned on in MMI the climate control just doesn’t blow any air until engine temp rises. This is what bothers me, because I’m sure it should engage the heater automatically (it also says that in the user’s manual).
