LED headlamps
Had my A7 Prestige with LED for 1000 miles now and I can't find any reference to the LED headlamps in the manuals. I've checked the adaptive control in the MMI but I can't seem to see what it does. Does anyone have a resource to explain the LED lights?

Yeah, kinda weird, the adaptive headlights are supposed to turn directed by steering input, but i don't think it works. i wish it did work. i will mention it my service adviser when i go to service.

It states that Adaptive Lights ARE actually a feature with LED headlights. It's activated/deactivated in the MMI via CAR function button---Vehicle Settings---Exterior Lighting.
***The trick (if this does apply to 2011 A8 US models) is that the headlight switch must be set in the AUTO position***
I usually don't use this position, so I was under the impression that my car didn't have Adaptive Headlights---might still not have it, but I'll have to try it next time (unfortunately, the impending hurricane coming up the East Coast this weekend may delay my test).
Since you folks have 2012 model A7s, Audi may have upgraded the system for you guys, and gal :^)

I do not believe either the A7 or A8 LEDs actually turn. The only car that has turning LED headlights to my knowledge is the new MB CLS. There is adaptive lighting with the A8 LED headlights but I believe it just turns on the cornering lights. In any case, the LEDs do not actually turn for any Audis yet. The Xenons do turn in the corners.

ummmm, I could be wrong, but the A8 i had for the weekend, the Led Headlights turn from side to side, i saw them. Even in the ordering guide, it displays them as 2 different items, why call out Cornering light and then adaptive headlights and they are the same thing

For the A8, the Adaptive Headlights and Cornering Lights are listed in the 2012 Order Guide, not in the 2011 MY versions. This may have been a delayed feature on the A8---but, yes, both features are shown with the LEDs in the A7 Prestige Package.
