Default New A7 impressions? and 55tfsi MPG?

Hi folks, considering a new A7 for my next car, but a bit put off because of the number of complaints about rattles and pre-sense ghost braking in most A7 forums.

I know forum complaints don't necessarily indicate the general experience, since people with issues tend to use forums more to seek advice etc - but these problems seem to be pretty widely experienced by most forum members. Is the A7 really that bad? Anyone had a 2018+ model A7 without these problems? are these fixable? are any fixes planned?

Also I will avoid the Tiptronic based on nearly every review which are all critical and I test drove a 50TDI not good!

Which leaves me a choice either 40TDI Quattro or 45/55TFSI. so the choice is 'rapid economy' (head) or pure fun (heart)

So..... Any indication of real-world MPG or/L/100km from a 45/55tfsi would be most welcome.

Many thanks in advance

Smoothie.

Hi Smoothie -

Your in the pew-2018 forum. You might get more relevant responses in the 2018+ forum at https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a7-224/

Alpine Al is right. Might want to post this in the "C8" A7 forum. That said I have a 2019 A7 and have had nearly zero issues. In the US market we only have the 55TFSI (3.0T) with the dual clutch gearbox.

I couldn't be happier with it. I had a 2012 and a 2015 A7 prior to this so this was a bit of familiarity with the model, but its a big step up in technology. With 80% city driving I'm averaging 19MPG which is about 2-3MPG better than my old A7 with the 3.0L supercharged engine.

Hope that helps. Here is a thread with more information
