Glad I didn't wait for a 16. I despise the function and would be pissed I I had to turn it off every time I get in the car.

If you want to know how much difference it makes, watch your short term memory when you are sitting at a light. My avg MPG typically drops one or two tenths sitting at a light. But accelerating back up to speed even moderately, I lose 3/4 - 1 mpg. The problem is not sitting idling, it's accelerating up to the speed limit from a stop.

fuel savings would depend on the amount of time usually spent idling at major intersection traffic lights, freight trains, waiting to pick up kids at school. of course I'm a biased start/stop fan and i'm equally into it for the fuel savings as well as emissions reduction.

The first year the Start/Stop feature (in NA) was included in the MY2013 C7s. (ROW has had it for longer). The first year the Stop/Start button did not "stick" was apparently in MY2016. Reports indicate there is VCDS coding to change this behavior.

Any specifics to the VCDS coding would be appreciated.

I just spoke to Audi USA and they say it cannot be changed - it's part of trying to comply with and make the EPA and tree huggers happy; IMO, it's a pain in the a$$.

Thank you, I just did! This looks promising and would like to see about it, as long as it doesn't hose my warranty.
