Default Tough exiting?

Intro'd myself to a young dude here in Boca, getting into a brilliant red A7. I had rolled up in my wife's A5 cab so we started chatting. I told him his car was beautiful and I had a 99.5 A4 in the same color combo. I told him I was due for a change and was thinking about the A7, XF Portfolio and perhaps a (used) Quattroporte.

He said the only drawback to the car was exiting from the seats. He found it "difficult" and he was maybe mid 30's and pretty buff. I'm 66 and the last thing I need is more visits to the orthopedist.

So what gives with this?

I also have a little trouble getting in and out. Ok, ok, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but it shouldn't be such a struggle. I find that the feature that's supposed to move the steering wheel up and out of your way when you get in or out doesn't really move it far enough to be much help. I'm constantly bumping the headlight switch with my left knee as I get in or out. All in all, a couple of pretty minor gripes in a car I really love.

I'm a pretty big guy myself... 6'3, 240 - There is a method to entry/exit, but this is no different from any other vehicle w/ a sport stance. Anyway, I first sit, then I swing my feet. When exiting, I do the opposite. Not very difficult at all!

I do the same thing! Only I scuff the bottom part of the door frame - annoying. I'm 6'3"

I have to do the same, though I am only(?) 6'. Sit in then swing around and do the same thing on the way out. If I put my right foot in first (like I did with my previous cars) I hit my head on the top of the door opening. Once mastered the technique it is a non-issue.

Damn! At only 5'8" I'm starting to feel vertically challenged around you guys. The upside is, I get in and out of my A7 without issue.
