"control arm" squeak - check the headlight leveler
I've been chasing a really annoying squeak on my wifes car even after all new control arms and tie rod ends.
Was pretty convinced I had a new/defective lower straight arm. I could "feel" the squeak going up/down on the lift about 6". After about an hour of troubleshooting I disconnected the headlight leveler and that was it. I wrapped some duct tape around the arm, reconnected and no noise.
