3rd to 4th gear thump
Is this normal for newer D2s or even rebuilt trannies? If so, does it happen more in auto vs. tiptronic mode?
Does this cause the eventual damage that makes trannies fail?
It can happen on highways, or it can happen after some around town driving and the car shifts to 4th and you think you hit a speed bump..... My experience was that hunting(for gears) (not thumping) would happen on highways if you left off of the throttle, and it would happen around town if you dared to drive in 4th or 5th gear around 30 MPH.
