voltage regulator

Replacing the voltage regulator is pretty easy.
1) Remove alternator
2) Remove screws holding black cover on the back of the alternator
3) Pry plastic tabs out to remove cover
4) Swap regulator (2 screws) shown in pic
5) The regulator brushes need to be pushed in a little to install
The part is about $95 and if you look closely you can see the part# in this pic above (facelift car if that matters).
That's it!

Re: Audi D2 A8/A8L 8 voltd at pump
I had no fuel from line under the hood. I tested the voltage at 8 volts. Pump does not pump. Put 12 volts to pump and runs like champ. What can cause the low pump voltage? I removed the pump and it does pump with 12 volts.
