TT-lation (Maximus)

Let me state for the record, i am in no way biased towards Benz, i actually prefer Audi instead of any other car maker today. Recently, against my will, my father purchased an 2000 E430 4Matic. This car is obviously in the A8 range, although a couple of thousand cheaper it delivers amaizing preformance. Preformance in terms of handling is just astounding. A8 is a great sedan, i have been in it many times, i find that there is a bit of bodyroll when taking hard turns. E430 is stable as a rock and takes turns at any speed with ease. The A8's 5 valve V8 puts out smooth preformance and i love it. E430 is about the same, things that i like are the gas pedal is not "floating" but starts out from the floor, easier to control, and the engine is a piece of art, twin spark plugs per cylinder and 3 valves. Both cars put out hardcore performance and i love them both dearly. All i ask from you Audi fanatics is that you give one benz a chance, the E430 is definitely worth taking a good look at if you can. I drove it, I also drove the E55, and for a serious rush the E55 is an unbelievable ride. Why I picked the A8 ?
1. The Audi Quattro system is infinitely more proven than Daimler's 4Matic

2. Size..the A8 Trunk space must be at least 2.5 times the size of the 430/E55.

3. I prefer the ergo's and the interior of the A8, which is larger than the 430/E55

4. The Benz had no Tiptronic, Ixnay on that.

5. The Benz has that ridiculous piece of costume jewelry on the hood that gets stolen every week.

MB USA Sucks ..
I'm now a owner of two Audi S cars thanks to Mercedes Benz of North America, specifically the regional service manager Charlie Harper. In '95 we did own a E series MB and what a nightmare. Its public record that our ownership turned into a resolve via litigation.
Thanks MBNA for turning us onto Audi.

I beg to differ. The Merc model range mirrors the Audi range, ie C-Class to A4 (C43 vs. S4), E-Class to A6 (E55 vs. S6) and S-Class to A8. BMW does the same...

BTW - In Germany, the Audi A8 line outsells the S-Class Mercs and 7-Series BMWs combined.<p>~Richard

class, etc. the E class compares with the A6. The E430 compares to the A6 4.2, period.
