Default Audi's Quattro Gmbh Individual Program

Why doesn't Audi offer a individual option program for their cars like BMW and Mercedes Benz? I was set on buying the 2004 A8L, but my dealer told me that they do not currently offer a program of this sort, but may later. This will be my first luxury car and I wanted to have a unique interior and exterior color. Why is this such a big deal for Audi to give American customers this option?

Default They did do this in the past......

If I remember right, one of the S4 guys got his avant in Atlas grey before it was available now stateside......If you leave enough of a deposit, they will do it - you might need to call a few other dealers, the bigger the better, as they will have more information, and more pull to get things like this done.

i looked into getting an A8 L in a custom color. they can do it, but the dealer said i'd have to leave a substantial, non-refundable deposit (that is not legal in the state i live in, but that's what they told me!).

when i asked about custom interior stuff, eg - deviating stitching and deviating color seat inserts i was told "absolutely no way".

that said, i saw some 2004 order guide paperwork that included pricing for special order exteriors and interiors - basically "fees" for the hassle, as far as i could tell. but my dealer said no such interior modifications were actually available, despite what the piece of paper said. so i dunno what's what.

for the record, MB will NOT let you do the full-scale designo programs for NA cars. in fact, it is almost impossible to get a car in a color other than what's in the book. they do it for non-NA cars, but MBNA has decided that this isn't going to happen here, so tough luck.

Default You can choose any colour in Audi's worldwide exterior palatte for an additional $1700

( it might be a little more in the case of the A8, given the different paint techniques used on aluminum )

Any colour from virtually any model - with the exception of a few limited edition colours. Of course that means you can choose pretty much any interior they offer for the A8 to go with it.

So my suggestion is to visit various Audi websites for different countries, then check out all the colours they offer for those models.

Just be warned that if it's too off the wall, the dealer will either not order it, or demand a large non-refundable deposit. I've had people order silver cars with ivory/onyx combo interiors despite warnings that it didn't look very good. When the car arrived, and they saw it, they forfeited their deposit and purchased another combination on the lot rather than take delivery. That deposit is meant to off-set the lower price the dealer is able to ask for the car, and the fact that the car will likely have to sit for a while to find a buyer.

So find an Audi Brand Specialist ( call and speak to the sales manager to be connected to one ). Discuss your wishes. Allow 4 months to delivery since this car will take a little extra time logistically to produce.

If I recall correctly, some special order colour/interior options for the other brands can cost up to $10K or more.

Default According to the "RS6 North American Press Introduction..." article on s-cars.org

Audi is currently working on bring their Quattro Gmbh Individual Program to North America. I am leaning toward mid (spring or early summer) 2005 for this program to come to North America. Here is the link. Once you have accessed s-cars.org, just click on the picture with the Mugello blue RS6. The information above regarding Audi's Quattro Gmbh Individual Program to North America is Under "Other General Audi News" in the article mentioned above.

http://www.s-cars.org</a
