morning guys, well that chip in my windshield migrated into a 12 inch crack in yesterday's cold commute home...it's not infrared glass so can i just go to an aftermarket establishment? i drive the nj turnpike every day so the odds are it will happen again..any recommendations in central/northern nj?

insurance company paid for mine after mine cracked. Just insist on one that is non insulated. I did notice it was made in germany>> numbers on the Windshield are 43r-001126, dot 27 m75 as 1 vsg tinted 2. also saint gobain. this is a non insulated windshield

In some states like MA it is the law, and insurance comp will pay. In other it goes via your deductible.

Just be sure to tell them it just happened and you didn't drive for 6 months until the crack grew. They could say if you handled earlier you could have had it fixed with the "needle" process.
