Zumkopf

I just installed a new off-the-shelf valve body in my 98 A8Q (easy enough to do while changing the transmission fluid), and am preparing to button everything up. My question is whether the transmission now needs recoding due to the new valve body, or whether those are precoded or the code resides elsewhere. I don't currently have the RossTech software, but if I need to recode it probably makes sense to buy the RossTech because the dealership would probably charge $100 or so to do that job.
