Finally removing the trailer hitch.....
<center><img src="http://www.triad1.com/images/Audi/S8_Rear_Bumper_Assembly.jpg"></center><p>
I bought a new rear lower spoiler and should have it in the next few days. I am removing the trailer hitch (came on the car) and I will never use it. I have two questions..
1. Has anyone ever removed the lower piece #2 from #1 and how is it connected? I don't see any clips in the diagram. I know the front one uses clips...
2. Once I have the hitch and the rear spoiler off, I would like to sell them both as a package deal since the spoiler is already notched for the hitch, you won't have to destroy the one you have already... Not sure if the rear on a face lift is different, I have a hunch they are same so it would be good for all A8/S8 vehicles 98-2003.
Any thoughts?

I will check, I believe it is a standard Class I hitch... it isn't a class 3 to haul boats or RV's
Yes, a Class I hitch is for small things such as bike racks, luggage boxes, and even very small trailers. Technically, a Class I hitch is for used up to a 2000lbs trailer weight (WC) and a 200lb tongue weight (TW). Not that I would recommend pulling anything too heavy with our cars anyway...
