Default The manual shows 5 Catches on a 99 bracket. Two are on the sides

and three across the top plus two screws in the center. It says to push the side ones inward to release. It implies the same for all five. As usual they are never quite clear and detailed. It might be hard to get the top ones to release. Maybe once the sides are released, you could reach behind the plate with some kind of tool and release them. If you are going with the license plate bracket in front maybe you would be interested in selling your filler plate. I don't need a plate in front in my state. Need a Brilliant Black bumper filler plate for a 97-99. If interested e-mail me.

Default Re: The manual shows 5 Catches on a 99 bracket. Two are on the sides

thanks for the info!

it may be that they need to be released in the order you suggested. i will give it a try and see what happens.

i can reach up behind with a small screw driver, coming up from behind/inside the bumper, but cannot get those catches to come free. from the outside top, i know i will either brake the catches or mess up the finish.

my filler plate is mica blue, so it might not look to hot for brilliant black. i may just wait to get the $100 ticket! looks much nicer without the plate!
