Help identify this and its function
#13
Sorry didn't realize that, it was a referral from a friend. Seeing as it's the same part...
...as used on VW's, couldn't you just say it's for your VW xyz? Same for the case of any other coindicentally shared parts (of which I don't know what they are - that's what I have my Rossato for - where's yours? 8-))...
ps. Randy, YGM... you get it?

Part number 077103245B - $92.66 plus shipping
Search by OEM part number - It comes up under Volkswagen, but not Audi for some reason<ul><li><a href="http://genuinevwaudiparts.com">http://genuinevwaudiparts.com</a</li></ul>

Re: Help identify this and its function
I had to replace mine to. Mine also sounded like a ships horn at certain RPM, all it does is re-circ the crankcase pressure / fumes back into the head. The thing is, if you remove it while the car is running it will stop the engine.
I took mine of and "tried" to take it apart to see what was going on, unfortunately it broke so i had to replace it anyway. But all there is inside is a diaphram and a spring that moves up and down to regulate flow per RPM. On cars with a "higher" mileage, then engine will "breathe" heavier and produce more crankcase oil fumes etc and "eventually" it clogs up this valve and the awful noise starts.
What you can do is just remove it and fill it with parrafin or something similar, give it a good shake rattle and roll and clean it out. This may prevent it failing at a later date as it will clog up and the rubber diaphram splits and thats when the noise starts.
