Default how is the front final drive connected to the wheels?

are there any parts that could cause slop AFTER the front final drive - causing the car to buck?

Default your question is not clear

what i think you mean is that are there components after the front differential that could have slop. if so the answer is yes, the front driveshafts use triple joints in the wheel hubs. also the hubs are mounted with ball-joints whcih can carry slop which is only noticed when the driveline is carrying torque and the car suspension is working.

Default sorry, should have been more clear. what I have....

is a huge slop that causes the car to lurch and buck at low speeds. almost seems some teeth are missing. now, since the dealer already replaced: (1) the whole tranny (this includes the front diff, torque converter...), (2) the drive-shaft, and (3) the rear diff, the slop must be somewhere else. the slop is in the front so I'm wondering what else could cause this. the dealer is clueless. any help would be appreciated.

thank you.

Default That would leave the two front half shafts....have two joints in them each

And I'm sure if we went back and looked at our notes, that was the next thing on the list to check. Just need to jack the car up to check it.

Got a hydraulic floor jack?

Default no jack here, but I may be able to talk this shop in letting me place it on a lift...

right now, the car is at the dealer (AGAIN) to see if they can find something. one of the shop guys has agreed to drive it home tonight so I hope that the problem will manifest itself and they can fix it. will see, but I'm not holding my breath.

if this fails, there is a shop here that I deal with for my truck and the guy is very cool so I think he would let us use the lift for a bit. will ask.

thanx.... ~s
