It's going good with the TB Changeout!
It's Paul here....we have the front end of Floris' car off, man, what a difference! It's easy to do too. Did it a little bit differently than was posted.
Started at 7 A.M., it's 11:30 now and everything has been completely disassembled, (including water pump thermostat, TB, etc.) it's ready to go back together.
The upper radiator hose has a 3/8" hose coming off of it, I looked at it the wrong way and it broke. Luckily, the local Audi dealer in Westmont has the part. Going to get it now.
Then it will be time to put it all back together.
THE BEST NEWS is:
Some older guy stopped by and asked if I wanted some tools, basically all Craftsman. I told him that I was interested, but needed to see them.
He gave me:
Two metal tool boxes with a COMPLETE set of metric and standard wrenches, tons of screwdrivers, two jackstands, another complete set of like new Craftsman sockets and standard wrenches in a plastic case that was mounted to his garage wall (I took it off) a huge C clamp, plus two large blow hammers.
Cost: $60!!!!!!!
I guess this must be good karma.....

I think we broke the same hose on the one we did here at the shop.We had to wait 4 days for the part, not as lucky as you.Did it cost around $150.

I'm going to replace both radiator hoses on mine (Paul talking)
Defintely getting both hoses. Put the belt back on, tensioned it, new water pump in, new t-stat and now the cam covers on the rear of the VC are back in. Just have to put the TB covers back on and front end back on!
Still working at it!
