I like the proposal to drive it for a while
Here in the Netherlands, a forum mate gave me a name of independ institution which checks your car for Euros235. It is USD300 roughly. I will do it as well.
I was suprised by the response he gave me and all of you as well...this forum is great.......
I have tested the car on rough roads, sharp turnings, and on low obstacles, no suspicious sound at all. It is when it is on the high way running starting from 40kms/per hour onwards that the sound comes in. I do not believe what I hear. The car is double glazed. It had an accident on the left rear wing though. The damage was fixed for Euros4000, USD4900. I assume it is not a big thing given the complexity of the body work on the space frame. It was not perfectly done. The gaps on the rear door and the hood are big. The dealer promised to correct it.
I have searched the forum: reasons for noise range from worn out bearings, suspension arms, noisy tyres (especialy the stock Good Year, which it has). However the car has 16" rims, it should be quieter?
Keep helping me to think plse. it will be appreciated.

I would have to try it
But because the logo is not square, I don't know how it would look, feel free to put it in your sig!
And you can always link off pictures hosted at audipages that have to do with A8's!

See if it has the rubber pieces in all four jack points
There are rubber inserts that go into the bottom of the rocker panel just aft of the front wheel and just forward of the rear wheel.
Many times these come out. They are about 4" x 2", at least one of them will be in there.
If one is missing, it can make noise at highway speeds.

You can't miss it, it's on the forward and rear part of the rocker panel
Just get on your knees and see where the jack would go under. There will be at least one installed on your car, a rubber piece hanging 1" down or so from under the rocker panel.
If you see one missing, just get a new one. About $20 U.S.
