Default Kinda funny but I need to fix it

So last night I turn the car on, and wam bam the wipers turn on and stay on. So I have to drive home with the wipers going, on a rain free night. I felt so stupid but thankfully it was only 2 miles to my house. The wiper control lever is in the off position, but the wipers go up and down. I pulled the connector by the motor to turn them off, and there was vasoline? on the connector pins. Is it supposed to be there. I'm gonna check the wires for water, clean them off, try to figure this out. I checked all the fuses and they are all good. Anyone have this problem. I saw threads with people that had problems with the wipers parking or not turning on, but not constantly running in off position. Any suggestions/solutions?

The "vasoline" keeps the connector water tight believe it or not and is supposed to there

Default The motor appears to be working just fine. I would venture a look at the relay first

and then at the stalk "cluster". Sorry no Bentley so I do not know where the relay may live.
