Default Let's Hear a BIG WoooHooooo for the US Mens Alpine Ski Team!!!!!!!!

These guys OWNED the best skiers in the world this weekend!! I just came back from three days in Beaver Creek where the World cup is being held. The A8 flew past all the bozos in SUVs getting stuck in the ditch on Vail pass ;-) On Friday, the US took 1st (Daron Rahlves) and 2nd (Bode Miller) in the downhill (Johann Grugger of Austria took 3rd). Here's a shot of the podium:

Then, if that wasn't enough, they repeated today by taking 1st and 2nd in the GS, only the order was reversed (Bode won it and Daron took 2nd). Also, Americans took 4th (Erik Schloppy), and 12th (Dane Spencer). This is an incredible start to the World Cup season for the US for a year that essentially comes to a peak in Turino for the Olympics. GO TEAM US!! Lets hope for a podium finish for the US in the Slalom tomorrow!

PS- The A8 kicked butt on the way back to Denver too! I LOVE this car in these conditions (it snowed over 14" overnight last night in Beaver Creek).

Default Fine for me. We just got pelted with snow last night.

I spent 3 hours last night driving in it for pure fun. Tons of switch back drifting, and killing SUVs on the highways covered in snow.

Nights like last night show everyone why the A8 is the ULTIMATE winter car. 3 friends with with me, and in pure luxury, heated seats and all, we enjoyed the comfort, and grace at which this car moves.

As far as clearance, I noticed a continuing track of my undercarriage throughout my drive, but we did get a bunch of snow, and I lowered my front a bit more ( in the spring ) to give a more aggressive stance. The car will pull through the snow with ease anyway. This year I will again drive around my back yard in the untouched snow, and get some video of it ( and much more since I am creating a X mas A8 video ) and its unstoppable quattro...

Hey thanks, out here changing lanes on the highway, and getting into driveways can be kind of challenging, too much snow or lazy plow drivers maybe both.

No problem unless the snow gets over 2' deep. The A8 isn't a very good snow plow ;-)

Default I am deep into the snow belt of NY, and the plow guys are not fast ( they do have a lot to do).

Do you have winter tires? If not, get them. I was changing lanes in 5" of snow @ 55-70 MPH all night and no surprises.

yeah i have not decided wether the drop will comprimise the overall ability to drive in the winter, Backroads, and getting into drivways. when they only plow one lane on 36 its tough to get in and out, even when i had my jeep. (now i can just imagine what that is going to sound like on the undercarriage)
