Mirror failure
I just bought a D2 4.2 Q w/ 98000 kms. Everything else works, but the mirrors don't (cannot adjust or fold away). (Only manual adjustment is possible.) My guess is that a chip is gone (otherwise it's unlikely that all functions in both mirrors fail).
Is this going to be a costly repair? Should I visit a dealer?
I live in the Paris region but can visit Germany easily (got the car from Germany).
Thanks

Have you checked fuses...2000 (Euro 99) and later, #2 on the 5th row (brown row).
Anything else not working?
But, I believe the same fuse powers other accessories, so your problem may not be the fuse...I'd check it anyway.
The problem could also be either the switch itself (or wiring to it) or the control module (relay), which is in central electrics, under the passenger's foot panel. Inside that panel, is a relay box in the center which pulls out partially...the module is the large relay at top left of that panel.
If you look in there, check for evidence of water intrusion...this sometimes happens due to clogged inside AC evaporator drains or outside fresh air plenum rain drains or both.
It's the 2nd brown fuse, 10A. On the manual it says it also serves seat memory, which explains why I can't set the seat memory yesterday (thought I did it wrong, but apparently it's the fuse).

To recap, my symptoms were:
1) Mirrors could not be adjusted using mirror switch control on the door
2) Mirrors COULD be adjusted by virtue of selecting a seat memory position
3) Passenger mirror DID dip when shifting into and out of reverse
Thanks to you guys for posting the above, as long ago as it was!
