Default Mobil 1 0w-30 Racing oil for sale??

Randy Young, PaulW, others--

1- Does Mobil still make the Mobil 1 0w-30 Racing oil? I bought a case of 12 quarts a little while back- used 8 in my last oil change- now i have 4.
2- If not, does anyone have 8 for sale? Or know of any?
3- If not, anyone interested in buying my 4? if so, shoot me a price- I figured it's not the best idea to mix with Mobil 1 "regular..."

Also, any concerns of switching from the racing back to the normal synthetic?

Thanks,

Steve

Default What is so "Racing" about W 0-30?, I don't get it

sounds like oil for extreme cold weather, thats about it. W15-50 would more likely fit in this terminology.

Default I recently bought a few cases from AVLubricants

If necessary, I'm sure there'd be no problem mixing M1 0-30R with any other grade of Mobil 1, and no problem going back to regular synthetic.

What were you using previously? Did you notice an improvement in gas mileage with the 0-30R?

AVLubricants

Default Ultra low friction = ultra low wear and more HP

Compared to "normal" synthetics, Mobil 1 0-30 Racing contains very high levels of anti-friction additives. As long as it's available, I won't go back. The fuel savings more than pay for the additional cost of the oil; and FWIW, I'm changing it at 5k mile intervals.

Did I gain 26 HP?

Default I have had similar results going from Cast 5-30 to M1 0-40. At 75 I get 30.4 on M1 Conpared

to 26.4 on 5-30. Of course my 2.7:1 final drive means I'm barely turning 2000 at 75...

Default Randy- i saw close to 2 mpg improvement...

i have a very regular route to work, open traffic, flat roads, so i can get a very good "apples to apples" comparision. I can average 23.7 mpg on the hwy, where i was around 22 before.

Does the oil make the difference? I geuess so, nothing else changed....

BTW, thanks for the referral to AV lubricants- i just ordered more...

What do you mean "low lifetime miles?"

the racing oil needs to be changed more often, it has less lifespan.
