Default More 99 A8 help. ABS light and transmission fluid.

This has been a great car until the last couple of months. I had two CV boots that were torn that I had fixed. Now the abs and brake light is on. Is that possibly related?

I had the transmission fluid changed about 1 year ago (BG fluid?). Ever since it has been shifting rough. I took it to another garage and they said it was 1.5 quarts low. They fixed that and it has helped the problem a bit, but the shifting is still rough. Is my transmission about to fail? Please help.

You probably have dirty ABS sensors. See the procedure by following the link below.

Default ABS light info

ABS falure info.

Problem solving is always a good thing.

When I had my ABS probem it was intermidit.

It came on here , then there , rarely.

Then it would come on when i hit a bump.

Next ignition off and on would fix the issue.

Then it would come on when I hit a bump.

Then it just was on all the time ... mostly.

Wire probem for sure.

Some realy cheap wire soldered up and bang no light any more.

Glad the cleaning thing worked for you this time.

Britt
