Need opinions: is going to synthetic oil at 95K a bad idea?

The benefits of synthetic are obvious, but I have always heard this can cause additional oil leaks. What do you guys think? What brand/weight would you recommend? Thanks.

Running 5W30 Mobil 1 at 115k+ miles, no problem

started using Mobil 1 @ 130k, have had no problems

went to Mobil 1 0w-40 at 138,000. No problems.
