What is the difference between the "switched" and "unswitched" 12 volt power? Will "unswitched" bring power to the unit when the ignition is off?

I hooked mine to the wire that lights up the back console by the vents. It was very simple.

It its strtange. My arm rest has the phone in the driver's side and the empty compartment with the lights is on the passanger side. I guess that must be the German model.

Default You can take the phone cradle out

Or at least I think you can, just pop off the side leather panels and using a torx screwdriver, remove the small torx screws and then you can pull out the insert. You could probably then remove the phone cradle and double your storage space.
